Creativity holds enormous power for fostering social change and as designers—contributors to the material world—we have a responsibility to make choices that benefit society in positive ways.

Design is a tool of capitalism but it can also be a powerful tool for fostering social change,

You can support change—or you can initiate and make change—as designers we can be social entrepreneurs and make change happen.

Designers can break out of the confines of their day-to-day routine to turn their passion into action.

Worldstudio has spent the last 15 years merging design-thinking with socially responsible initiatives.

Worldstudio is seeking to create a market for socially responsible design, to demonstrate the value of design-thinking when it comes to social issues—beyond the obvious branding and collateral solutions.

Mohawk Fine Papers and Design Ignites Change teamed up recently to create The Feedback Loop, a project using the new Mohawk Loop grade as a catalyst for change. In exchange for free Loop paper from Mohawk, twenty-five leading letterpress printers, including UPSTNY AIGA Members Dock2 Letterpress, were asked to create fifty unique notebooks. These limited-edition books are now being sold in a special storefront in Felt & Wire Shop. 100% of the proceeds will go to Design Ignites Change to support their youth mentorship program, School: by Design.

We'll be giving away limited-edition Feedback Loop notebooks to 5 luck winners at the event, courtesy of Mohawk Fine Papers.
